We will be together as the world falls down,
Standing nowhere, as they flock around.
There is no reason or logic in this place,
Just frightened looks upon their faces,
We will all lose touch and the meaning just dies,
Circled by vultures and eaten by files.
What was good I know would not last,
The future is drawn out just like the past,
We need someone with us as we watch it all end,
Neighbours, strangers, lovers and friends.
It will not matter who they are when it starts,
Just a voice to hear as the world falls apart.
Do we care if there is love or not?
We are all doomed and will be left to rot,
Forever alone and lost in our minds,
The last things left at the end of time.
No one to hold and no one to save,
Trapped in our heads, our one true grave.


Neon Rose

Hidden in the underpass
I left the shell of my neon rose.
Sheltered by the pylons
And the sodium undertones.
Running free through the darkness
Hiding from the day.
She doesn’t want the world to see
The faces fade away.
They’re swallowed by the cold
There are no more words to say.

My neon rose just left me there,
Alone and in the dark.
Searching for normality
As I watch the world fall down.
There crying eyes are full of lies
As they hold on to what they know.
Fleeing now through space and time,
As life begins to slow.
She looked out through broken glass
Casting her neon glow.
